We’re underway in Orchard Park. The Dallas Cowboys (10-3) and the Buffalo Bills (7-6) are both coming off of massive wins over bitter rivals, but they couldn’t be in more different spots entering their Week 15 matchup.
The Cowboys smoked the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13 and can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win or tie on Sunday. On the flip side, the Bills hung on to defeat the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 20-17, but at 7-6 are fighting an uphill battle to simply earn the seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC.
What the two teams do have in common is quarterbacks who are lighting defenses across the NFL on fire. Dallas’ Dak Prescott leads the NFL in passing touchdowns (28) and touchdown-to-interception ratio (28-6) while Buffalo’s Josh Allen leads the league in total touchdowns (35, 25 passing and 10 rushing).
However, Allen may have a tougher battle on Sunday. The Cowboys enter with the league’s fourth-ranked scoring defense (17.9 points per game allowed) led by All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons — who is first in the league in quarterback pressure rate (20.1%) — and cornerback DaRon Bland — the league leader in interceptions (8) and NFL single-season record holder in pick-sixes (five). Meanwhile, the Bills’ defense, the sixth-ranked scoring defense in the NFL (18.8 points allowed per game, will likely be without Pro Bowl safety Micah Hyde and defense end A.J. Epensea, whose 6.5 sacks are tied for the second-most on the team.
