SpaceX, Falcon 9 to launch another batch of Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – SpaceX delayed the launch of its Falcon Heavy on Monday, ending its hope for a spectacular double-dip of rocket launches, the agency announced.

It still hopes to launch its Falcon 9 rocket that will send another batch of Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit.

The Falcon Heavy rocket was scheduled to send a secret mission into space at 8:24 p.m. Monday from Kennedy Space Center, but was scrubbed “due to a ground side issue; vehicle and payload remain healthy.”

For now, the space agency still plans to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 11:05 p.m.

SpaceX is hoping the Falcon 9 will launch 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit during a window from 11:05 p.m. Monday to 3 a.m. Tuesday.

SpaceX said this will mark the third flight for the first-stage booster supporting the mission, which previously launched the Crew-7 and CRS-29 missions.

Following stage separation, the booster will attempt to land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.
