A FASHIONABLE mom has been left baffled by the awkward design of a dress that she bought from Boohoo.
She attempted to style the little black dress with a pair of heels to see if it would be suitable for a Christmas party.
Lauren Lily Lea (@laurenlilylea) has garnered almost 5,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares makeup tutorials and shopping hauls.
She took to the social media platform after ordering Boohoo’s glitter one-shoulder bodycon dress with pleat detail.
The dress is currently reduced from $30 to $24 and is sold in sizes ranging from four to 14 in four different colors.
Lauren tried on the dress while including a small photo of the model wearing it on the Boohoo website for comparison.
“This is the dress I ordered,” read the text alongside an arrow pointing at the model.
She prepared viewers for the wardrobe malfunction that was to follow by describing the video as a “Christmas party outfit gone wrong.”
“I do have it on the right way round believe it or not,” she said.
“I’m not quite sure as to why there is a slit there but I deffo have it on the right way.”
Lauren turned around to show a huge slit at the back of the dress that exposed her bum cheek.
She showed more than she bargained for as she lifted her arms into the air and flashed her bottom while dancing.
“Your a** is going to be out and no one wants to see all the cellulite,” she said.
“Other than that, the front of the dress is really nice.”
Lauren explained that she liked the pleat design on the front because it covers her stomach.
She looked at herself wearing the sparkly dress from different angles, pointing out that it was “baggy” at the back while everywhere else was tight.
“This is a size 12 and it’s tight,” she said. “Sew this [the slit] together so your a** isn’t out.
“Other than that the actual dress is really nice. I would deffo go up another size.”
She tagged the brand in the caption of the video, writing: “Not quite the dress I ordered [side eye].
“Think @boohoo something may have gone wrong here [laughing].”
Over 63,000 people watched the video and it racked up hundreds of likes from people who were amused by the disastrous dress.
Many viewers took to the comment section in hysterics, while others claimed to have had similar problems when shopping with Boohoo.
One person wrote: “I ordered this in the green and had the exact same issue! I’ve stitched the slit and it looks great, definitely recommend instead of returning it.”
Another commented: “I ordered this dress too and had the same problem, lovely dress but not the length advertised at all!”
A third chimed in: “It’s very short too [embarrassed] compared to the photo.”
