Black Friday is always a tricky time for our experts. A big reason is that the deals season always brings with it huge changes to products’ prices.
This is a challenge as we always factor value, or performance-per-pound as a key part of our review scoring and buying advice. So if a product we’d originally given four stars due to the fact it wasn’t necessarily the best value, a big price drop during Black Friday can change that and make it a decent purchase for its target market.
This has already been the case this year, with Black Friday bringing huge savings on key items, like the Samsung S95C and 65-inch LG C3, which both scored four-stars when we originally reviewed them due to their high price compared to rivals.
And that’s why our editor-in-chief, Alastair Stevenson penned his latest opinion piece explaining why you should never ignore 4-star products when Black Friday deal hunting.

Chances are, if you’re in the market for a shiny new flatscreen this Black Friday LG and its merry band of OLEDs will be near the top of your list. Its 2023 models have generally impressed, but there’s still some fantastic value to be had from its 2022 models, particularly the C2 and G2 ranges.
