The upcoming Monday Night Football game features the Chicago Bears facing off against the Minnesota Vikings on national television. Despite the Vikings enjoying a recent 5-game winning streak, their momentum was stopped with a loss to the Denver Broncos in week 11. Throughout most of that winning streak, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson was absent due to injury. Although there were expectations of his return for the Bears game, Senior NFL Insider for the Athletic, Dianna Russini, reported that Jefferson is unlikely to play on Monday night due to his lingering hamstring injury.
How much does this help the Bears?
Vikings Quarterback Josh Dobbs would obviously love to have Justin Jefferson as he is yet to play with him but the Vikings will still be to move the ball on the Bears defense. But the fact of the matter is the Bears defense will likely have the advantage now as they have been playing pretty well in spurts. Not having to worry about one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, should allow the Bears defense to really lock in. The Bears played great for 56 minutes vs a very potent Detroit Lions offense. If they can get over the heartbreaking loss, they could give Dobbs and the Vikings offense problems on Monday night.
