Austin Butler And Jacob Elordi Are In Love With This Stealth-Wealth Shoe

The Adidas Gazelle has always been a go-to for a particularly trendy and culturally attuned type. The popular shoe, first released in 1968, is a Vogue office favourite for on-the-go days. They’ve also been spotted on a plethora of celebrities throughout the years, including Harry Styles, Gisele Bündchen, Mick Jagger and Kate Moss. But a specific buzzy version – the coveted Gucci X Adidas Gazelle, which was released last year – has made notable appearances on the feet of Hollywood It-boys in recent days. Which raises the question: will the Gucci X Adidas Gazelle be the shoe of the summer? 

The collab shoe – part of a larger, ongoing partnership between the two behemoth brands – is rooted in upscale versatility. Jacob Elordi illustrated this when he stepped out in Los Angeles in  a green pair. The star wore his kicks with calf-length socks, four-inch inseam shorts and a faded sweatshirt. His Bottega Veneta Andiamo Bag was a fabulous flourish to finish the look (BTS’s RM carried the bag in a campaign for the house recently, too). Here, the Adidas X Gucci shoes add a hint of stealth wealth. At first glance, you might mistake them for an ordinary pair of Adidas. But if you know, you know. 

Elsewhere, Austin Butler opted for a more workwear-oriented outfit while strolling with his girlfriend Kaia Gerber. His ensemble befitted a creative director on an off-duty day – stylish, but grounded. Their couple moment also demonstrated the unisex appeal of the Gazelle. Gerber wore a navy pair with her breezy dress and roomy overcoat. It’s the perfect his-and-hers shoe.
