He will sit with two deputy CMs to finalise the names. I am confident that the cabinet would be expanded at the earliest,” he said.On the controversy over Maratha reservations, the Ratnagiri MLA said Fadnavis had granted them reservation when he was CM and even successfully fought for it in the Bombay high court. “The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government had failed to continue the fight in the Supreme Court.”The minister said the Mahayuti government wanted to give reservations in such a way that it would stand scrutiny of all courts. “The opposition often blames us for the issue. They should see how our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a slew of schemes for farmers and brought changes into their lives. It never happened when they were in power for all these years.”Regarding the ongoing battle between two Shiv Sena factions before speaker Rahul Narwekar’s court, Samant said they had submitted all relevant documents and were confident that they would get justice. “Even the Election commission of India (ECI) had ruled in our favour” he said.

Shinde, who is from the Maratha community and the son of a farmer, promised to be truthful and not mislead the community.
China removes defence minister Li Shangfu, ousts ex-foreign minister from cabinet in another big leadership shakeup
China has removed General Li Shangfu as defence minister, without providing an explanation or naming a replacement. This comes after speculation about the fate of the US-sanctioned general, who has not been seen in public since August. Li’s removal was approved by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee. This move follows a similar unexplained withdrawal of ex-foreign minister Qin Gang in July. Li’s removal comes just ahead of a regional security forum that was expected to pave the way for high-level military dialogue between the US and China.
