Elden Ring gamers have found a way to drastically change the game’s armor with a straightforward setting adjustment. While Elden Ring has lots of armor available for usage, some fans are still clamoring for more options, especially on the visual side of things. Even though the title has been out since February 2022, players continue to discover new things and settings to find and try out.
Elden Ring‘s character creation is a big feature of the game. Players go to great lengths to achieve their desired look for their avatars. This includes not just the face and body shape, but also details such as armor selection, weapons, and accessories. The number of visual options to decorate their characters is staggering, but there are still those who want to go into more detail to achieve the look that they prefer. A discovery helps gamers achieve a small visual change just with a minor setting.
Reddit user Spiderdan found out the massive difference that armor looks like when adjusting the body sliders in-game. He had always thought that Elden RIng‘s heavy armor did not look quite right when worn by his character. It turns out that adding more muscle to the avatar adjusts the visual setting of the armor to make it bulkier than it looks. His solution would be to make characters skinnier than intended, so the attires look better. He then adds that he wished the effects weren’t as extreme as they are so that players wouldn’t need to adjust as much.
The character creation suite can get pretty extreme at times. One gamer was able to make a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in Elden Ring. As ridiculous as it sounds, the in-game adjustment sliders allow creators to be free with their design choices. While some may look wildly out of place, the freedom it grants players allows for a great deal of options in terms of expressing individuality. This latest discovery may make proportions look proper in terms of blending with the game world.
With Elden Ring‘s upcoming DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, not only is an expanded story and game world expected, but fans are hopeful for possible new options for weapons and armor as well. With the DLC speculated to release in late 2023, those looking into adjusting their characters so that the visual look of their equipment may look better can get into grinding with their new avatars again before that date. Hopefully, gamers can find more adjustments to achieve the aesthetic and proportion that they wish for.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
