The all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona will be offered in a host of different guises with different power figures

Many car enthusiasts aren’t exactly thrilled that an all-electric version of the Dodge Charger is just around the corner but a number of new details about the final production model have emerged and they’re sure to excite anyone. Will they be enough to win over muscle car traditionalists?
For starters, it is understood that the all-electric Dodge will be dubbed the Charger Daytona, much like the Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Concept that was unveiled 12 months ago. It is also understood that the production model will look very similar to the concept, another positive given just how striking the retro concept was.

Mopar Insiders has also received word from insiders that like the concept, the production model will also sport the same ‘R-Wing’ incorporated into the design of its front end and hood. It is also speculated that the panoramic glass roof from the concept will make its way to the production line.
Fortunately, the arrival of the all-electric Charger won’t immediately spell the end for the brand’s combustion-powered muscle cars. Current reports claim that the next-generation Charger and Challenger will both be offered with the Stellantis 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six that premiered under the skin of the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. In standard guise, this engine is good for 420 hp and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque as well as 510 hp and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) in high-output form. A horsepower figure over 500 hp should be more than enough to satisfy muscle car fans, although the lack of a V8 could still be a sore point.
Dodge’s plan is to offer the electric Charger Daytona in a handful of different guises. The entry-level model is expected to deliver 455 hp while the higher-end model will be good for 590 hp. However, the base model will be offered with 495 hp and 535 hp upgrades through Direct Connection while the 590 hp version could be boosted to between 630 hp and 670 hp.
