AFilipino tribal tattoo artist has become the oldest person to grace the cover of Vogue.
At the age of 106, Apo Whang-Od, also known as Maria Oggay, is the face of the April issue of the fashion magazine’s Philippines edition.
Wearing tribal jewellery and red lipstick, her body art is on display in the striking cover shot.

The magazine said Whang-Od symbolised “the strength and beauty of the Filipino spirit”.
She lives in a mountain village in Kalinga, about 15 hours north of Manila.
She is often described as the last mambabatok (master tattooist) and has been carrying out the 1,000-year-old hand-tap technique known as batok since her teens.
Maria says she will continue to practise as a tattoo artist for “as long as my eyes can see”
