Allchillakill and Cereal Ice Cream Bar by Frio serves build-your-own chilaquiles and ice cream

NEENAH – Customers will soon be able to enjoy unique, authentic Mexican dishes at Allchillakill and Cereal Ice Cream Bar by Frio.

The new restaurant, 1001 Winneconne Ave. in Neenah, is owned by Hugo Ramirez who also owns and runs Frio Mexican Treats in Appleton.

Frio Mexican Treats first opened in 2018 and is known for its churro ice cream sundaes and other unique, hand-made ice cream flavors. It also sells Mexican candy and churros.

Ramirez said Allchillakill will open on April 16, serving customers a build-your-own chilaquiles bar, a traditional Mexican dish consisting of corn tortillas cut into quarters and lightly fried with various toppings, similar to nachos. An ice cream cereal bar will also be served.

“For the cereal bar, we’re having something a little different, kind of like a soft serve with different cereal mixes in it,” Ramirez said. “The ice cream will be sealed so that it can just be grab-and-go, but customers will also be able to add churros to them in the store.”

Additionally, the shop will offer drinks like horchata and its own brand of Mexican coffee. Candy and churros will also be served.

Ramirez said he hopes his new location will show the community why it is important to support small business.

“I think its important to, as a whole, support small business in the Fox Valley area,” Ramirez said. “There’s a lot of chain restaurants in the area, but small businesses are special because you get to know the people who actually work there, and as a business owner, you get to know your customers more personally.”

On April 16, Allchillakill will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ramirez said it will be more like a soft opening as the store is not fully staffed.

“Right now we’re just focusing on making sure everything goes according to plan,” Ramirez said.

For now, more information on Allchillakill and Cereal Ice Cream Bar can be found on the Frio Mexican Treats Facebook page.
