The incident, which transpired Saturday evening on Central Expressway near University Boulevard, involved six vehicles and left four individuals injured.

Police responded to the scene around 6:25 p.m. local time, where dashcam footage obtained by media outlets depicted a Corvette and a Lamborghini speeding recklessly along the expressway, triggering a chain reaction of collisions.

Rice, who leased the Lamborghini from a Dallas car rental company, asserted his accountability in a statement released on Wednesday.

The complete statement read as follows “Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident. I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

Although the statement did not confirm his presence behind the wheel, Rice expressed his willingness to cooperate with authorities and apologized to all those affected by the accident.

NFL is monitoring investigation on Rashee Rice

Witnesses reported seeing occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fleeing the scene without rendering aid or providing their information, prompting criticism from affected individuals like Kayla Quinn, who recounted the lack of empathy displayed by the drivers.

Both sports cars involved in the crash were linked to Rice, according to attorney Kyle Coker.

While the investigation is ongoing, Dallas Police confirmed they have engaged with Rice and his legal representation.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Rice’s NFL team, refrained from commenting on the situation when reached for a statement.

However, the NFL indicated it is monitoring developments closely, adhering to standard procedure in such incidents.

Rice’s swift ascent in theNFL, highlighted by his record-breaking rookie season with the Chiefs, contrasts sharply with the events of the weekend.

As authorities continue their investigation, Rice’s Instagram post serves as a public acknowledgment of his role in the crash and a commitment to accountability moving forward.
