New fan art depicts Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector with an updated, modern costume, amid rumors that he’ll be returning to the MCU for Moon Knight season 2. Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight season 1 premiered in March 2022 as part of the MCU’s Phase 4, introducing audiences to Marc Spector, a mercenary with Dissociative Identity Disorder who had entered into a deal with the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu, to act as his “Fist of Vengeance”. Moon Knight is one of the highest-rated MCU Disney+ shows, spurring calls for Marvel Studios to continue the story in Moon Knight season 2.
Moon Knight season 1 featured Oscar Isaac’s MCU antihero suiting up in two different costumes: Moon Knight’s armor as Marc Spector, and Mr. Knight’s suit as Steven Grant. Moon Knight’s costume has been given a stylish, modern upgrade in fan art shared by Kode Abdo.
Sporting a sleek suit and hooded jacket, the updated costume is still inspired by Moon Knight’s Egyptian roots, featuring wrappings of ribbon akin to his classic armor. There’s been speculation that one of Moon Knight’s costumes has remained hidden, belonging to Spector’s third alter, Jake Lockley, which could be featured in Moon Knight season 2.

Back in 2019, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Moon Knight would crossover into the MCU’s feature films following his debut on Disney+. This led many to believe that a second season of the popular series wouldn’t be produced, but recent changes in Marvel Studios’ television production may have caused a shift. Marvel Studios’ creative overhaul in TV production followed 2023’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and ensured that more series would get second seasons, as well as dedicated showrunners and clearer narrative arcs, which could spell good news for Moon Knight season 2.
Prior to this, in October 2022, Oscar Isaac revealed to Comicbook.com that he had been in conversation with Marvel Studios about returning as Marc Spector. However, he wasn’t sure if this would be in Moon Knight season 2, or instead bringing Spector into the MCU’s feature films. More recently, Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab pushed for a season 2 while noting that Marvel Studios’ Loki was, at that time, the only series planned for two seasons. Even though there has still been no confirmation of Moon Knight season 2, many are still hoping that Marvel Studios will continue the story.
