ICE cream lovers and Taco Bell fans are in for the collaboration of their dreams, and chocoholics might want to listen up.
On February 9, Taco Bell made a delicious announcement during its “Live Más Live” event on YouTube.
The Tex-Mex fast food chain, known for its mouth watering burritos, is serving up a sweet treat this year.
The company is teaming up with Salt & Straw, a west coast ice cream business, to bring Chaco Tacos back to store shelves.
Many foodies were devastated when Klondike’s Choco Tacos were discontinued last year.
The fan-favorite dessert was a hit before Klondike gave it the axe after almost 40 years of its inception.
But now, Taco Bell and Salt & Straw are resurrecting it from the ashes.
Still, not every foodie is quite convinced. They shared their reactions in the comment page of a Facebook post from Snackolator.
“They need to bring back the actual Choco Taco that Klondike discontinued,” one user commented.
“But now they bring back something worse than a Choco Taco.”
Yet some people had polar opposite reactions.
“I’m crying I need it!” one person commented on an Instagram post from Salt & Straw.
CHOCOLATE TACOLATE
Salt & Straw already has its own version of sold out Chocolate Tacolates.
The delectable delights are made from waffle cones, cinnamon ancho ice cream, candied pecans, dark chocolate, and sea salt.
But Taco Bell’s new take will offer tangy cheesecake dip, plus packets of Chocolate Chili, Cinnamon Wild Berry, and Mango Jalapeño sauce.
The idea for the collaboration originally came from Taco Bell, as per The Oregonian.
Tyler Malek, Salt & Straw’s cofounder and ice cream chief, said he received a call from Taco Bell’s chief executive officer, Sean Tresvant.
“The Taco Bell x Salt & Straw Ice Cream Chocolate Taco was created by Salt & Straw co-founder, head chef and ice cream innovator Tyler Malek as an ode to the childhood treat everyone knows and loves, reimagined through the Salt & Straw lens of using innovative flavors and ingredients,” a representative for Salt & Straw wrote in a statement.

The U.S. Sun reached out to Taco Bell and Salt & Straw for a comment.
They didn’t reveal the specific date when the Chaco Tacos would release, but their social media pages said to expect them in time for summer.
One Taco Bell worker recently clued customers in on a tip for optimizing their portions.
“I’ve been working at a Taco Bell for nearly a year now and have seen it all,” he said on Reddit.
He said there are measured out portions employees are supposed to use, but management frowns upon giving up large amounts.
This Taco Bell worker reminded foodies about a tiny menu item.
And one fan of the chain exposed its inflated prices with a receipt from 2012 they found.
