GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A two-story building along Fuller Avenue NE in Grand Rapids is getting close to be ready to open.
The $37 million healthcare facility is set to replace a different building along the same street.
The two-story, 120-bed long-term rehab and nursing center being built by Corewell Health along Fuller Avenue NE in Grand Rapids is expected to open this spring.
The building, whose price tag is estimated at $37 million, aims to provide a more comfortable, home-like atmosphere for long-term patients who require round-the-clock care. Inside, patients will find a mix of semi-private and private rooms, an on-site dialysis center and five beds for acute hospice care.
Other amenities include courtyards and an art gallery.
“The courtyards will be adjacent to the building and offer residents opportunities to be outside and enjoy sunshine and fresh air,” Corewell says. “The art gallery will provide space for residents to engage in art activities and display their creations.”

Located at the corner of Cedar Street NE and Fuller Avenue NE, the building will replace Corewell’s current long-term care building located nearby at 750 Fuller Ave. NE. The building will serve residents who suffer from developmental disabilities, diseases or injuries, and who require 24/7 care.
In August 2022, when a groundbreaking for the facility was held, Corewell officials said every room in the building will have a window, and every patient — even those in semi-private rooms — will be separated by a wall, providing a greater sense of privacy.
The average patient stay at Corewell’s long-term care facilities is between four years and five years, officials said at the 2022 groundbreaking.
