Yoplait Just Released No-Added-Sugar Yogurts Packed with 15 Grams of Protein—and They’re Delicious

Right now, protein is all the rage, and we’re loving it. We predicted that high-protein snacks would be a top food and health trend for 2024, and Yoplait is proving us right with their latest product line.

This month, Yoplait launched a new line of yogurt: Yoplait Protein. Yes, it’s exactly how it sounds. Each yogurt cup in this 8-flavor line boasts 15 grams of protein and 3 grams of sugar (with 0 grams of added sugar!) per serving, making it the brand’s highest protein and lowest sugar offering to date.

“Consumers are having to make tradeoffs, opting for products they don’t enjoy the taste of … just to get in the extra protein, so we decided to do something about the lack of options in the category,” said Kaylee Pohlmeyer, Brand Experience Manager at General Mills in a press release.

The 8 flavors include Vanilla, Strawberry, Mixed Berry, Strawberry Banana, Peach, Cherry, Strawberry Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie. Even with these sweet flavors, there’s no added sugar in these products. Consuming some added sugar in your routine is OK and can be done within a healthy eating pattern, but artificial sweeteners like sucralose (which is used in these yogurts) can be helpful for those keeping their blood sugar levels in check.

I was worried that these yogurts would taste like protein powder or have a strange consistency, but with its simple ingredients, Yoplait Protein didn’t disappoint. I was sent samples of the vanilla and peach flavors to try out, and they taste exactly like their original Yoplait flavors. The texture and flavor had no notable differences, and as someone that ate frozen Yoplait vanilla yogurt cups everyday in college, I trust my taste buds here.

I enjoyed them so much that I scoped out more of the flavors to buy at my local grocery store. They’re budget-friendly: Sold in single-serve, four-count packages and tubs, the high-protein yogurt cups start at just $1.19. My fridge is now stocked with strawberry banana, mixed berry and cherry.

If you’re like me and enjoy the taste of regular yogurt but want the low-sugar, high-protein benefits of Greek yogurt, consider trying this product.
