In our continued coverage of Ghostbusters: Back in Town, Dark Horse Comics’ four-issue miniseries that serves as a lead-in to the upcoming big-screen sequel Frozen Empire, today, we’ve got your first look at Issue #3!
Arriving on comic book shelves on May 29th, the cover from artist Christopher Mitten returns the Ecto-1 to the streets of New York; however, the Big Apple is in the grasp of an otherworldly epidemic that, among the ectoplasmic threats, includes a colossal spectral pigeon, which appears hot on the trail of the tricked-out Cadillac.
Currently, there’s no variant cover listed, but we do have a synopsis for Issue #3, which reads:
As tensions rise in the city and in the Spengler family, Phoebe discovers the entity targeting the Ghostbusters: the malevolent Madam Malvaeux! On her own and outmatched, Phoebe escapes through the sewers, and stumbles into . . . supernatural standup?
Follow the Ghostbusters official return to New York City with the third installment of this all-new series! Ghostbusters: Back in Town features script by David Booher, art by Blue Delliquanti, and colors by Mildred Louis.
Ghostbusters: Back in Town brings readers back to where it began: New York, as the Spenglers are ready to take on the family business, but in addition to ghostbusting, they’ll also need to deal with the changing family dynamic in an all-new story written by David M. Booher and overseen by the filmmaking duo of Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan.
In a previous statement made to Screen Rant, Reitman would comment on the upcoming miniseries, saying, “It has been a personal thrill to collaborate with this incredible group of artists and storytellers on new chapters in the proton jungle.”
Ghostbusters: Back in Town Issue #1 will be available just after the theatrical release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, arriving on comic book shelves on March 27th, 2024.
