The Green Bay Packers are 30 minutes away from locking up a playoff berth. Green Bay hold a 7-6 lead at halftime over the Bears, who are hoping to prematurely end the longtime rival’s season.
Green Bay took its first lead when Jordan Love hit Dontayvion Wicks for a 10-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter. That score was sandwiched between two Cairo Santos field goals, the second one taking place with 1:17 left until halftime. The Bears were forced to settle for a field goal after Kenny Clark sacked Justin Fields on third down.
The Packers blew their chance to add to their lead before halftime when Wicks’ progress was stopped in bounds after a short completion, killing the remainder of the game clock. Green Bay was unable to score despite driving into Chicago’s red zone on the half’s final drive.
Love was 15 of 19 for 158 yards and a touchdown in the first two quarters. Fields went 8 of 9 for 94 yards, but was held to just six yards on four carries. Aaron Jones had a big half with 48 yards on eight carries and 24 yards on three receptions.
