Some notes
- Four Chiefs players have missed every practice this week: left tackle Donovan Smith (neck), running back Isiah Pacheco (concussion/shoulder), wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip) and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (calf).
- Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) missed practice on Thursday, leaving La’Mical Perine to take the top running back reps.
- Cornerback Jaylen Watson (illness) returned as a full participant Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday. Right guard Trey Smith (ankle/knee) remained limited.
- It’s worth noting that wide receiver Mecole Hardman (thumb) has been a full participant this week. With questions surrounding Toney’s availability for the second straight week, it is reasonable to think that the Chiefs could activate Hardman so that he can play against the Bengals this weekend.
- For the Bengals, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (shoulder) remains a player to watch, as he returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant. Chase being available may create a significant mismatch against the Chiefs considering Sneed’s availability is currently in question.
- The Bengals have designated cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt (ankle) to return from injured reserve — and he was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday. It sounds like he thinks he can play this weekend, which would provide quite a boost for the Bengals.
