The Badgers guard had a wrap around his leg after suffering an injury.
The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Chicago State Cougars 80-53 on Friday evening, improving to 8-3 on the year and ending their non-conference slate on a high note.
However, it wasn’t all great news, as guard Chucky Hepburn suffered a lower-body injury early in the second half and was ruled out shortly after, raising cause for concern.
Following the game, head coach Greg Gard provided an update, which seemed encouraging for the guard’s prospects to return sooner than later.
“He was walking around in the locker room a little bit,” Gard said about Hepburn following the game, via 247Sports’s Nick Osen. “He’s gonna be sore, but he says he’ll be fine…he’ll have some time to rest here and get him back.”
The Badgers have a short break for the holidays before coming back to continue their conference slate on January 2nd when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes at the Kohl Center.
Should his recovery go well, it appears that Hepburn will be able to play in some capacity against Iowa, although we’ll get more updates as that game approaches.
However, should Hepburn not be able to play, it’s likely that the Badgers will rely on the likes of Max Klesmit, John Blackwell, and Kamari McGee to handle the primary ball-handling responsibilities.
