Detroit Pistons fans have had enough.
As the Pistons fell apart late in their 119-111 loss to the Utah Jazz on Thursday — their 25th straight after starting the season 2-1 — a relatively loud “Sell the team!” chant broke out at Little Caesars Arena.
The Pistons have struggled for years since Tom Gores bought the team in 2011 and have never won a playoff game since he’s been the owner. (Though their playoff victory drought dates back to 2008.) The team has not made the playoffs since the 2018-19 season, when they were swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.
It was the most vocal outcry from the Pistons fanbase this year, which has become distraught over the losing streak in various online mediums.

The Pistons’ loss was especially painful, as the Jazz were playing without four of their top six scorers, including their best player, Lauri Markkanen.
The Pistons, despite the franchise-record losing streak that is one away from tying the longest single-season skid in NBA history, were 3½-point favorites on some sportsbooks, due to how many players the Jazz had out.
The disappointing 2023-24 campaign comes after the Pistons finished an NBA-worst 17-65 last year with franchise cornerstone Cade Cunningham out for much of the season.
