Some of the world’s most acclaimed chefs will be coming to the Bay Area as part of a series of pop-ups taking over a famous local kitchen.
Ritual at Manresa will occupy the former three-Michelin-starred Los Gatos restaurant Manresa, which closed at the end of 2022, with 10 international chefs bringing their dishes for three-week stints. The series is described as a collaboration between longtime Manresa chef David Kinch and siblings Juan and Luis Caviglia, who founded Ritual as a series of chef events at rotating venues, and also started a restaurant management software company.
Kinch closed Manresa after 20 years in business, citing fatigue with fine dining. He still operates more casual nearby restaurants and cafes such as the Bywater, Mentone and Manresa Bread, and has announced plans to open more. Kinch selected the lineup of chefs, according to a press release.
