BEREA, Ohio — Joe Flacco pulled on his new No. 15 Browns jersey Wednesday and threw to his new teammates for the first time.
Flacco (6-6, 245) explained why he still wants to give this another whirl at the age of 38.
“To a certain extent, it’s all I know,” he said. “”I still have a lot of fun doing it. I do feel like I have stuff left in the tank, so I owe it to myself to continue to push forward and try to play the game that I love until I really don’t feel like I can do it anymore.”

Flacco, who stayed in shape while waiting for his phone to ring, threw a nice spiral in practice on Wednesday, and looked like a player who’s spent his life on the football field. Kevin Stefanski won’t say if Flacco will be his No. 2 in Denver on Sunday behind Dorian Thompson-Robinson, but he probably didn’t come here to be the No. 3 behind P.J. Walker.
Flacco, who beat the Browns 31-30 with the Jets in Week 2 last season with two TD passes in the final 82 seconds, is betting on himself.
“I definitely believe I can still play,” he said. “I’m focused on the day to day. And as long as I can do that, whatever my role ends up being and wherever this takes me, then I’ll do my best at that.”
