Scene… Major League Baseball great and New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge took patrons by surprise when he and his wife Samantha Bracksieck stopped into Coffee To Go, the non-profit coffee shop on Maple Avenue in Greenwich Monday afternoon. After ordering their coffee, Judge was happy to take photos with the staff and service dog, Foxy from Raising Service Dogs.
Out there…Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Bridgeport is hosting All Souls Day Masses at 11 a.m. next Thursday at the following cemeteries: St Mary Putnam/Cemetery in Greenwich with Bishop Frank Caggiano; St. John Cemetery in Darien and St. John Cemetery in Norwalk; Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull; St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford and St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury. Scene…Kelly Bensimon, author and former cast member of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City,” hosted a shopping event for Breast Cancer Alliance at Pologeorgis in Greenwich on Tuesday. The event featured her sixth season of Enville, a luxury outerwear and home collection. After the event, Bensimon dined with her fiancé Scott Litner, Pologeorgis co-owner Joan Nathenas and Pologeorgis director of public relations Jenny Roberts at MOLI, a new celebrity hotspot on Greenwich Avenue owned by award-winning restaurateurs, K Dong and Chef Steven Chen.
Out there…The Ferguson Library in Stamford is featuring an evening with former TV sports reporter turned crime writer Elise Hart Kipness, on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. Kipness will discuss her debut novel and thriller “Lights Out,” which follows a sports reporter off the basketball court and into a world of murder, secrets and lies. Scene… The Darien Old Timers Athletic Annual Dinner takes place on Nov. 6 at Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien, 6 to 10 p.m. The event celebrating past athletic achievements of former Darien athletes will honor John Nelson, Darien High School,class of 1981; Dave Roper, DHS class of 1966, Matt Elders, DHS class of 1984 and Glen Moore, DHS class of 1990. The Community Civic Award will be awarded to Darien resident: Millie Miceli, who is active with the United Methodist Church, Darien Little League, Darien RTM, Parks and Recreation, and Kiwanis. Out there…The 4th Annual Silver Shield Foundation Walk takes place next Saturday at Tod’s Point in Old Greenwich. Registration takes place at 8 a.m. followed by the Opening Ceremony at 9 a.m. and the walk.
