GETTING dressed up for the daily school run is the best part of one young mom’s day.
She dares to wear what makes her feel confident, even if other parents cast nasty looks in her direction.
On TikTok, 26-year-old Lauren Garford (@_sp00kybimb0) posts about life as a vegetarian mom with an alternative style.
In one video, she responded to other parents who judged her curated looks during daily school chores.
Dressed in an entirely pink ensemble with immaculate makeup, Garford looked picture-perfect.
She mixed patterns with ease, layering a heart-print sweater over a graphic T-shirt and floral trousers.
With her blonde hair cascading over one shoulder, Garford recorded a message for the judgy parents.
“When the padded coat moms give you dirty looks in the school drop offs/pickups,” Garford wrote in the caption.
She lip-synched along to the song Don’t Hate Me by Lola Young, directing its message at the other moms in their comfy, unstylish coats.
“You said that I’m really f***ing boring, well, that’s rich coming from you,” she mouthed, raising her eyebrows incredulously.
Even though her message was pointed, Garford won sympathy from other moms in the comments right away.
“Hate the school run,” a mom agreed. “I stand as far away as possible. I like to think of myself as a school dad.”
“I get all the mums running away from me with a filthy look,” a mom with similar problems lamented.
“This is why I just stand alone at pickup,” a third parent confessed. “Can’t handle them gossiping.”
A few moms who were members of the “puffy-coat” club said they still faced oddly judgmental behavior from adult bullies at their kids’ schools.
“I have a sleeping bag coat, but I have orange hair and tattoos and can’t stand those mums,” a fellow alternative mama revealed.
Some openly admitted to being jealous of Garford, though there was no ill will behind it.
“I wish I had time and confidence to dress up nicely for the morning school run,” one exhausted mama said.
But she would take comfort over style any day.
“It’s joggers over pajama bottoms and hair scragged up for me,” the resigned mom said with good humor.
A second mom agreed, encouraging Garford to see the mean moms’ stares as looks of admiration.
“If I’m looking at you on the school run I’m envious that you made it on time whilst looking stunning,” she assured her.
“I’d stare, I can’t lie,” said an honest woman. “With a smile cause of how amazing you look.”
“This outfit looks unreal,” a different mom agreed, praising Garford’s impeccable taste.
