Lainey Wilson’s career has skyrocketed over the years, thanks to her music and acting in Yellowstone season 5. But she is also capturing attention with her unique approach to fashion on the red carpet.
Back in April 2022, the country singer put her fresh sense of couture on display as she walked the red carpet for the 2022 CMT Music Awards. While she’s recognizable for wearing her signature hat and fringe, Lainey stunned attendees with a two-piece see-through Zhivago black dress. The top half of the outfit featured lace detailing down the billowed sleeves and over the bodice, which had a black bra peeking out from under.
As a way to complement the top, she wore matching flowing pants with a high-slit and ruching toward the waistline. With the look effortlessly blending both casual chic and sexy, Lainey continued the theme with several statement pieces.
Carrying a black clutch purse as an accessory, Lainey off set the monochrome attire with a pair of gold platform heeled sandals. She ditched her hat for a feather behind her left ear, and wore a long necklace, rings and earrings for sparkle. With her simple eye makeup and a neutral lip color, she pulled the entire ensemble together.
When the show’s official Instagram account posted a video of the “Heart Like a Truck” singer walking last year’s red carpet ahead of the 2023 CMT Awards, people immediately reacted in the comments.
“OUR GIRL KILLING IT!!” one person wrote. “That outfit is gorge and it looks comfortable,” another follower agreed. “She just KNOWS she looks good ,” a different user added.
If there’s one thing to note ahead of tonight’s awards, it’s that Lainey will always have all eyes on her. What’s more, the singer will have the spotlight to herself at one point, since she’s set to perform alongside Alanis Morissette, Ingrid Andress, Adeline Edwards and Morgan Wade during the star-studded ceremony.
And if she comes away with one of the four nominations she’s up for, it will make for an even sweeter night.
