Some of the best barbecue practitioners in the Houston area will join the top smoked meat stars of Texas at the 2023 Texas Monthly BBQ Fest, Nov. 4-5 in Lockhart.
Texas Monthly, which publishes the coveted list of 50 Best BBQ Joints in Texas, released the final lineup of barbecue joints that will be smoking for the weekend blowout, including local greats such as Khoi Barbecue, Blood Bros. BBQ, Brett’s BBQ Shop, Feges BBQ, Killen’s Barbecue, Tejas Chocolate & Barbecue and Truth BBQ.

There are still tickets available for the weekend, which will feature the BBQ World’s Fair on Saturday and the Top 50 Picnic on Sunday.
The BBQ World’s Fair (beginning at noon) is an open-to-the-public street festival with barbecue and taco vendors showcasing creative barbecue techniques; live-fire cooking demonstrations; and live music. A ticketed event follows from 5 to 7 p.m. that offers signature bites from featured barbecue joints.
Sunday’s signature event is the Top 50 Picnic that includes samples from more than 30 Texas barbecue joints featured in the Top 50 list. VIP admission begins at noon followed by general admission at 1 p.m.
Tickets for Saturday’s event (5 to 7 p.m. in downtown Lockhart, 110 S. Main) are $55.
A limited number of general admission tickets to Sunday’s event (1 p.m. at Lockhart City Park, 504 City Park Road) remain for $105 for adults and $40 for children 6-10.
