World class paella: Ann Arbor chef set to represent U.S. in international competition
Chef Raúl Cob from Ann Arbor’s Aventura restaurant is headed to Spain soon but it’s not just to relax and explore the cuisine.
Cob is a finalist representing the United States and Aventura in the World Paella Day Cup global competition in Valencia on Sept. 20. He is one of 12 chefs worldwide competing to create the best, most authentic paella, a popular Spanish rice dish originally from the Valencian Community.

Dunkin’ will soon open in former Cloverleaf location in Ann Arbor
Dunkin’ is one step closer to opening its doors in downtown Ann Arbor.
The national fast food restaurant will be opening under a franchise group known as OM Group. One of the group’s partners, Mandy Ristic, said she anticipates Dunkin’ will open its new location at 201 E. Liberty St. at the beginning of November.

New owner of Dawn Treader continues legacy for longtime Ann Arbor book shop
Africa Schaumann never would have guessed a visit to the Dawn Treader Book Shop with her father would someday lead her to own the store
The Dawn Treader Book Shop, 514 E. Liberty St., began in Ann Arbor in 1976 and was run by previous owner Bill Gillmore. The longstanding business became an iconic book store during the decades, selling used and rare books.
Schaumann took over ownership in June 2022 and has continued what Dawn Treader has always been known for.

Find seafood with a Cajun flair at Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack
Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack brings a different kind of lunch and dinner spot to downtown Saline.
Owners Wally and Cindy MacNeil opened the seafood restaurant inspired by Nova Scotia heritage in 1996. Mac’s menu is known for combining Cajun cuisine with “old world English charm,” according to its website, and has options for salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas and, of course, seafood.

Get ready to embrace fall as Dexter Cider Mill prepares for 137th season
As August draws to a close, cider mill season is quickly approaching.
The Dexter Cider Mill began its 137th season Friday, Aug. 25, and is adding a couple new additions to its operations. The cider mill at 3685 Central St. began in 1886 and has since become among the longest, continuously operating cider mills in Michigan, offering apples, freshly made doughnuts and, of course, cider.
