The Miami Dolphins are busy putting in work off the field, as general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel continue to attempt to improve their roster before their first preseason contest.
According to New Orleans Football Network’s Nick Underhill, Miami is signing defensive back Parry Nickerson following a workout on Sunday. This comes just hours after a report that the Dolphins signed defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand.
Nickerson, 28, was originally drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft after a collegiate career at Tulane. After spending his rookie season with New York, he jumped around between the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers over the next two seasons.
He spent the last two years with the Minnesota Vikings.
Nickerson has appeared in 25 regular-season games, mostly in the slot, recording 28 tackles (one for a loss) and one pass defended.
Miami doesn’t have an open roster spot at the moment, so they’ll likely announce a flurry of moves in the coming days.
